Simon P StuartBackground: Over the years, I have studied art in a variety of settings including college courses in Courtney, Nanaimo, and Victoria BC. While these investments created a solid foundation, being a self-directed life long learner continues to have the greatest impact on how I create and experience the world around me. I also have a rich experience creating art in stained glass, especially how it is expressed as part to the Arts and Craft movement. It’s easy to see how this continues to influence my works on canvas.
Medium: The majority of my work is oil on exhibition wood cradle panel or deep gallery wrapped canvas. Square surfaces seem to dominate my current body of work. I’m best described as a post-impressionism oil painter. |
