Rachel Piluso

I am an oil painter focusing on realism, living in Victoria BC with my husband. My studio is based in our small home in the city. 
Painting the hypnotic motion of the ocean and the wild west coast of Canada brings me peace and reprieve from chronic Lyme Disease. My goal is to translate that moment of peaceful escape that I feel whilst painting to the viewer.  Offering a moment of pause as you recollect your own west coast memories and are transported back to the special places where you strolled along the beach with family and friends.  Recalling that quiet and calm feeling you get when you step onto the empty beach and hear the water gently fizzing as it washes over the sand.  To remind you how getting back into nature can reset your mind, giving both peace and perspective.
