Shelley HordiyukShelley has been working in acrylic and mixed media since 2015. Her love of nature is evident in her work. As a design enthusiast, she prefers to show nature with just a little more, such as flowers beyond their prime, trees and animals in outrageous colour, and birds who are beautifully and flamboyantly ridiculous.
Shelley is inspired by street art everywhere, by the birds of Galapagos Islands and in her own back yard, by First Nations artists such as Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun and K.C. Hall and by simple things like the colour of the sky after a storm. She has shown her work in juried shows, galleries and has participated in studio tours throughout the Victoria area. Her work is in collections internationally. |
