Renato BerlandaI am Renato Berlanda, a Bosnian-born, Croatian-Canadian artist and sculptor whose journey is deeply rooted in resilience and transformation. Growing up in war-torn Bosnia and later immigrating to Canada, I experienced firsthand the disruptions of conflict and displacement. Art became my language, allowing me to process trauma and connect with others. Inspired by the strength of the women in my life, including my mother and wife, I create works that explore themes of resilience, mental health, and human vulnerability.
I push the boundaries of materials, blending traditional and unconventional elements such as clay, wood, and renewable PLA filaments. Deeply influenced by the natural world and my Croatian heritage, I strive to capture the beauty of human emotion and nature in my sculptures and installations. |
Exhibiting since 2014, I aim to empower and inspire, using my art to connect personal experiences with universal themes.
